Podcast: The pre-launch huddle
Caitlin, Curt and Hank chat about the past few months and what we hope for the future of the Tucson Agenda
We’re finally ready for our big day tomorrow!
After months of chipping away at our seemingly endless to-do list, our first edition is filed and the Tucson Agenda is prepared for launch.
But before we make it official, we wanted to take a few minutes to talk to you, our readers. But we couldn't invite all 1,000+ of you over to our house on such short notice, so we recorded a podcast instead.
Listen to us gab about the Tucson Agenda.
At a big daily paper, you get an obscene number of emails. Occasionally, you get gems that spark thoughtful exchanges. But honestly, it’s mostly a lot of cranks.
The newsletter world is different. It’s a much more direct relationship with your readers. You’re here because you want to be here, not (usually) because you stumbled on some Twitter-promoted national news story with a clickbait headline.
As we embark on building this newsletter, one of the things we’re most excited about is getting to communicate with you — both through the newsletter and in real life!
Caitlin is stoked to design a publication that has the freedom to take risks, and to give Tucson the kind of coverage it wants and needs, rather than the kind of news coverage that drives clicks.
And after being cooped up behind a desk on the opinion pages, Curt can’t wait to get out on the streets again and talk to you all about what’s happening in city politics and government.
We’ll have lots of upcoming opportunities to meet you all in person. But for now, we just want to say thanks for believing in the Tucson Agenda and coming along on this ride with us!

From what you are reporting today you have managed to omit the "Ready, fire, aim" failure of many new business.
