Gail Griffin is a shill for outside water interests. She doesn't care a whit about her constituents. Generally, her constituents would like a reliable water supply. You know...so they can drink a glass of water? Gail Griffin wants to turn Cochise County into Kansas.
Sales tax is a tax on the poor. I think there should be more spent on housing. I filled out a city survey on priorities several months ago. It was poorly designed and offered many false equivalencies. There was also no background information offered on why particular options were the only ones offered. “Do you want this or that?” There was no option to say “none of the above” and offer other ideas. As I remember there was a lot about bike paths and bike lanes and very little about sidewalks. I’m all for bicycle commuting. I was a bike/bus commuter for years when I worked at the UA in the 1990s. BUT Tucson’s climate is changing, and we have an aging population. In 2024, we had nearly six months with regular temperatures over 100 degrees. Have any of the City Council members commuted by bike daily when it is over 100? I did that. By the end of my seven-mile ride, I was beet red and dripping with sweat. The first thing I did upon arrival at my house was to jump in the swimming pool. How many bike commuters have a swimming pool?
Gail Griffin sure is sponsoring a lot of legislation this year. Pima County and ADEQ have a few bills that’ll have her name on them.
