I got my invite AFTER the town hall had already started. I was also deeply unimpressed by the format and Ciscomani's limp excuses and obfuscations. Thanks for covering that non-event, I noted your tepid enthusiasm for such accountability-lite events in my latest post on BlogForArizona re the MAGA caucus green lighting another 6 Trillion in national debt to finance more tax cuts: https://blogforarizona.net/every-single-gop-az-congress-member-votes-to-increase-the-national-debt-by-almost-6-trillion/

You are welcome. It is always fun to listen to what residents are concerned about and how elected officials respond.

We will go to as many as we can, as long as we get an invitation. 😅

Thank you for reporting this completely under-the-radar tele town hall. I would otherwise have had no idea this had happened which is unacceptable. I have emailed and called Ciscomani’s office at least 4 times in the last two months with no response, but with that level of contact, would have expected to at least be notified of the town hall. Clearly, I do not feel represented, much less heard. Judging from your reporting and his legislative record, Ciscomani is clearly in over his head and serves only one man.

The vast majority of responses I receive to my correspondence from Juan are vague and non-committal. Never mind that I ask him, in direct fashion, what his position is on a given piece of legislation. It sounds like the "town hall" was similarly lacking in substance.

I also received the invite from him on VERY, VERY short notice. Too short to participate, but it sounds like I didn't miss much.

This is a bull shit writeup about a worthless coward. Why bother? You or us. He might warrant a sentence or two, a paragraph at most.

I appreciate your perspective but respectfully disagree. I think his discussions with public - versus the conversations he has behind velvet ropes - is important to document. It gives me (and you) to challenge his statements with reality.

I’ll note he voted for the House budget bill the day after this “town hall.”

The big issue with this coward is he will not face his constituents in Oracle or around his (our) congressional district. That's what matters now not his worthless commentary, backing and filling, trying to thread the needle having it both ways...as in no way. I talked to one of his staff in DC who claimed his man Ciscomani has "always been against" tariffs. So what? Ciscomani has collapsed in public on this one as well. Journalism has an obligation to call a politician out for cowardice before discussing any of "the issues". To a political coward the issues are a glaze of fakery trying to conceal what's he's really made of. Isn't this the fundamental rot at the heart of Trumpism, his sycophants and journalists pretending his "views" matter?

I hear you, we continue to advocate for in person forums for all political candidates / elected officials.
