Sounds like David Garcia might be the one. Tucson doesn't need ghosts on its council or people who are unwilling to share their thoughts with journalists.
It is reported that Rep. Juan Ciscomani CD6 has voted in Congress to move the $880 Trump cuts legislation forward, affecting Medicaid, SNAP, and VA healthcare, etc. However, he has yet to announce this action. The final vote for the bill is still pending. Please determine if this is true—many thanks.
I don’t live in the city, but I think it’s lame that only one candidate answered a very simple, relevant question (good on Mr. Garcia for answering). I’m going to assume you’re not going to get the answer from the others, as they probably know that’s THE qualifying question. Even some of the council members who voted against the ordinance probably think they need a sacrificial lamb to vote yes on it.
There was no League of Women Voter’s forum or public forum for this appointment?
It’s interesting that the potential ward 5 appointees aren’t commenting on the camping ordinance, especially since (correct me if I’m wrong) they can’t run for the seat’s full term. They don’t seem to have much to lose by making their positions clear. I appreciate the perspective that washes provide a buffer between residential areas and unhoused folks, yet fear that washes are unsafe campsites. Plus, large amounts of waste in washes potentially harms native plants and wildlife in washes.

Pretty pathetic...a 20% response.

There was not a league forum.

Maybe the folks sleeping in washes could go live in the Marana Prison. Might need a makeover...
