Keep on, keepin' on! You know you are doing something right when you get that kind of 'feedback.' Actually, their responses sound more like a whiny toddler. Have they ever heard about ChatGPT? They could use some 'intelligence' - artificial or real, their choice.
I was getting ready to cancel my subscription because I was tired of reading about the county politicians and their soap opera. It seems like every hard decision they need to make is deflected or deferred. They appear to be quick to blame others instead working on working toward solutions.
They were elected to do a job. Time to get on with it, people.
Pima Community College is a good example of reading a single report and then seeing the Agenda moving on to other issues.
PCC consumes a fair amount of our property taxes. Yet I don't hear what the enrollment is, how the new chancellor is doing or how the College is responding to Trump's demands to abolish all things having to do with diversity and inclusion of all people at our community college and whether or not the faculty and staff are free to talk to the press. Inquiring minds would appreciate knowing more about our community college. Thanks!
I’m sure our Board Chair would be thrilled to be interviewed about PCC, and thank you for the recommendation! I think sometimes we fall by the wayside in lieu of more “important” news.
Enrollment is up, we beat our own benchmarks for the semester and we have high hopes for the fall.
We will not be raising property taxes or tuition this next fiscal year, managing our costs through attrition and hoping that federal grants continue. So far so good on the federal front, but I don’t have my head in the sand. There might be challenges in the future, and we take them very seriously.
While I wasn’t on the Board yet when they appointed the new Chancellor, I’ve come to greatly respect his leadership. I didn’t know Lee, so I can’t make any comparisons, but Dr. Nasse is thoughtful and strategic. He’s also a former union guy himself, so I appreciate where he’s going with shared governance.
We’ve been able to avoid most of the Trump executive orders so far, as they’ve focused more on universities and K-12. For now.
I have heard that Lee was quite a bit more militant about how faculty and staff would engage with the media or the Board, but I’ve found Dr. Nasse to be pretty open to more engagement. I spoke to one of the faculty reps the other day about a change to their medical premiums that I felt uneasy about, and she mentioned she had never felt so informed about an upcoming change before, and had appreciated the discussion ahead of time.
I appreciate that you care about PCC, and thanks for reading my rambling response :)

I don't get to read the Agenda every day, but I'm really glad I got to read it today. Keep up the good work!
What an amazing way to kick off a Friday! Please keep rartling the County's chain; makes me happy!
If you are pissing people off...you are doing your job.
The shot heard round the County 😂

Love the exceptional reporting. Keep up the great work and I’ll keep spreading the word for folks to subscribe.

I've worked with staff briefly since joining the Agenda and had good interactions with them, including on a relatively sensitive subject.
We plan on rolling out more coverage in the coming months, but elections ARE keeping us busy right now.
